hydralic fluid ISO. what\'s the difference.

I have a leak on my FEL, I called the dealer and asked them what type of fluid I could put in it until they can gt the parts ordered and come out and fix it. He told me most any good quality hydralic oil will work, SO I found some ISO 32 oil AND PUT SOME IN. After I got some bush hogging done, I decided to read up on it. I've fould several type that should be comparable to the super UDT, such as:

Amsoil Synthetic Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission Oil (ISO 46)
Chevron Synthetic All-Weather THF (ISO 46)
Citgo Low-Temp Tractor Hydraulic Fluid (ISO 37)
Esso Hydraul 50 (ISO 32)
Esso Hydraul Extra (ISO 43)
Mobilfluid LT (ISO 42)
Petro-Canada Duratran Synthetic (ISO 47)
Schaeffer #315 Simplex Supreme Synthetic Blend (ISO 54)
Shell Canada Donax TDL (ISO 32)

I live in the south and have a 7510. What ISO would be best for me to use? and since I've already mixed fluid should I drain and refill with just one? thanks

I guess the big issue is .. do you have a seperate hydro system.. or is your hydro system and tranny/diffy all one sump.. If all one sump.. I'm betting it specs utf.. etc.. if it is just a hyds sump.. I imagine yout aw32 would work.. your dealer said it would. Whats the manual say.

Re: hydralic fluid ISO. what\'s the difference.

If it were leaking badly and I needed the tractor, I'd use R&O at $15 a bucket until it was fixed. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif If tractor's a hydro, and has one sump, then I'd use the good stuff.

Anyway, I=international S=standards O=organization
The number is the viscosity at 40C
letters before the # are for physical properties like AW=antiwear, VG=veg base and so on
For your clime ISO32-46 is best for seperate system
Usually an AW oil would be for shared systems where hyd oil lubes transmission gears etc.

Re: hydralic fluid ISO. what\'s the difference.

Maybe best asked on Kubota forum, Bucket or jug of the super stuff shoul label the ISO and give a letter to denote physical properties,One that would need to be paid attention to is if it is synthetic and able to mix with petro based oil. I imagine it would denote that in wording also. I don't use synthetic, but I believe theres a lettering system that correlates with an ISO#

If your manual specs UDT / UTF.. then I sure wouldn't be putting 'jack oil' in it.. ..
