I have a Timberking 2000 sawmill that is eating drive-belts way to quickly. The factory belt was an absolute joke and rated for way less power than it was asked to transmit. The better belts I have been picking up locally aren't lasting the greatest either. I am thinking something has to change.
I am thinking either just getting larger pullies (and a corresponding longer belt) or since I'd have to change over everything anyways, possibly converting it to a cogged or micro-rib belt.
Another idea I had would be to add a spring loaded belt tensioner to keep a more consistent belt tension. Think that would make a significant difference in belt life?
Its a full hydro machine. The stock pullies are about 4.5" diameter and the stock belt is 31"
