I am using it now in a L2350 Kubota and a YM2500 Yanmar. Excellent fluid.

Same answer as always, does it meet the specifications for your tractor? If it does, use it. If it doesn't, don't.

My machine has been operating pretty well, but would chatter wehn turning the wheel. When I bought it, the orignal owner had never changed anything beside the engine oil. So I replace the filter last year and new JD fluid. The chatter went away, but came back.

This year I replaced the fluid with some Special 303 by TRC. It was really expensive, but has eleiminated the chatter even with more hours on it than the JD fluid and my hydraulic respose seems crisper.

So price doesn't really equal quality. Either way.

Next time around you might try TRC's UTF Red. It's a great UTF fluid with a tackifier additive to help the oil stick to gears. It's what I use in all my equipment.

If you are refering to the TSC UTF oil, and not the plain R & O hyd oil.. then use.. I use it (UTF) in machines that it carries the specs for.. IE.. My fords and New holland.. etc.

DP,

Do you think that the TRC UTF is a better choice that the 303 Special? I saw the specs on the TRC website and it seems that the special was geared towards common sump equipment that shares hydraulic sumps with the final drives. I guess UTF would need to be the same, but the overall list of fluids that the 303 equals looked like a greater range. It was a total shot in the dark for me when I picked it. But my overall performance seems to be much improved.

In the end.. you want an oil that meets your manufacturers oils specs.. etc.. everything else is gravy..
