hydraulic angle blade, worth triple the price?

I have the Land Pride RB3596 which is almost permanently on my 3PH. I use it often both summer and winter. It is not hydraulic and I don't feel that hyd would be that much of an advantage for me. When I blade snow off the driveway - I offset it, angle it and that's all it takes to do the snow. Up one side and back the other. I used the back blade for the driveway in the summer and set it exactly - or pretty close - to the same as for snow but now I use the grading scraper. I didn't get hyd on the grading scraper either. I think the savings on these two implements alone is enough to purchase a third implement. At least that's one justification - ha,ha.

When a person has pretty much a constant set of conditions to work with, you are right, not a big deal to set the implement and just use it. But when those conditions vary a lot and the implement settings need to be constantly changed, it is a big deal to be able to make those adjustments hydraulically.

I know this is a little off topic with this thread, but I see that you have the skid shoes on your rear blade. Is that something that can be easily added to an existing Landpride blade? Do you have any idea what the "kit" may cost?

The skid shoes can be added at any time. The Land Pride skid shoes for the bigger blades retail for $200 a set. I have seen other OEM skid shoes at AG shows for $60. They were not the equal of the Land Pride ones though.

Thanks Brian. I'm looking at a rear blade for sale this weekend but it doesn't have skid shoes and I imagine ill want to add them. I'd spend the extra and get the better quality LP ones.
