The difference between my drawing and the Cammon is that the Cammon rippers are pinned directly to the tube with no shackels and the ripper channels are open in the back to allow the rippers to swing back as the tube travels in an arc. My design is geared more toward modifying a standard box blade where the rippers must move straight up and down within the clearance of their channels.
Check out the lower ripper supports Rob (3RRL) added to his ripper channels. Those should be compatiable with the geometry I've sketched but they would not function properly with the Cammon design.

Brad

Since I'm building from scratch I have the luxury of locating my rippers where ever best suited to the lift design. Sounds like you've got it figured out for modifying an existing BB. Send photos when you are done!!!

I was just reading your post and you said you are going to building a box blade. I was wondering if you had plans or know where to get plans for such a project.

Brad,
That is great thinking on your part. I wish I would have thought of that instead of all that gear work I did. I could not get away from the rotating pivot thing attaching to the front of the box instead of the back, like you did. I did not think of the shackles to allow linear up and down movement.
Just so you guys know, if you can do this to your boxblades, it makes it a wonderful addition to be able to rip and adjust the depth of rip with the touch of a lever.
Brad, I'd like to see you modify your boxblade, if it is like that. It would not be that hard to do. Just brilliant on your part!

No, I don't have any plans other than what's in my head. I've collected around 50 pictures of box blades so I've got plenty of ideas. I don't expect it to be very difficult at all. I'll also have a swinging rear blade. When I get home and build it, I'll certainly post pictures of the project. Gotta pay back all those members whose pictures I have saved!!! :D

Thanks for the advice.
Brad's pic looks like the best way for my blade, think I will give that a shot after I build a grapple for my FEL.
