If you have time, make a little bracket that holds the 2 hoses (like brackets that hold rear remotes) when they are disconnected so they don't dangle all around when your heater is out. I would imagine you would have to tie them up in some fashion anyway? A little holder bracket would look very clean and easy to snap into when putting the heater back in....just a thought...
