SC, if it's anything to do with filter or fluid, I'll be surprised. But some dirt or debris that was laying dormant could be it. But everything looked so brand new inside when we pulled the filter.

Can anyone give me the official name of the green part? I've looked at Hoye Tractors site and they don't list the YMG2000D specifically. None of the others I looked at even had the green part !?!

Checked fluid level and it was full or slightly over full. Fluid was clear and clean at the dipstick.

Tony- You might want to cross-post this over in the hydraulics section- you might get more eyes looking at it. Short of being there and taking the thing apart, I got nothin'.

No one else has said this yet, but I'd change all the hydraulic fluid when you clean the screen. If there is any dirt in there then hopefully it comes out when you drain the fluid.

Does your tractor have a loader? I have an unusual lever under my loader control stick that when turned to the side locks the hydraulics. If so, that could be what your mysterious green lever is.

Tony I bet that is a draft control (green part) that you hook up when you are using a tiller or other equiptment. I looked up several other models and they don't have that on the models that I looked at in the parts manual. Have you looked to make sure that the shaft attached to the lever and going into the hyd valve is moving when you move the lever? It may be that something is sheared or loose inside valve. I have my doubts as to trash in system as it moves up and down with the green lever. hope this sheds some light big dan

SC, good point. I'll have to cross post it over there.

roxy, no loader. The fluid was drained and new fluid just 60 hours ago. If I end up checking filter, I'll change out fluid again though. Although, that ain't cheap, so trying to avoid that.

Big Dan,

I don't know what a "draft control" is. Can you explain?

I did look at the shaft attaching to the lever. Seemed fine. But I'll look at it again more closely.

On the end of the green lever is a hole that looks like it would take a spring. I wonder if there was a spring here that automatically kept the green in the up position? Big Dan, do you have a spring coming off the end of green?

I, too, am really not thinking it's dirt in system. It works the right way every time as long as a pull up on green first. The issue has got to be somewhere between green and purple. Either internal, or maybe an external spring that I've knocked off?

I assume that by "draft" control, you're referring to the knob that adjusts the flow. Yes. I have that control and a lock control in front of the seat. I've tried adjusting it all ways. This green thing is different.

Big Dan, it would be a big help if you could tell me if you had some linkage coming off the green lever. If I remember, you have the same tractor.

Thanks,
tony

Tony I don't think that I know enough to explain what the draft control is. I don't use that lever or have anything that hooks to it. The way I understand the draft control is that if you get to much pressure on whatever you have on the three point it will lift the three point and ease the pressure and keep the front end of the tractor coming up and fliping over backwards. This being a override of the handle would explain why the green lever lifts the three point when the other handle won't. I looked in the YMG2000D parts catalog that I have and did not find a break down of the handles in it. The only manuals that I know of are not in english. Maybe someone that know can jump in and explain. big dan
