Hi,

Have a Ford 723 hoe and the boom droops pretty quick. While its apart to replace bushings and pins it seemed like the perfect time to get the cylinders tight. I would like to learn what other people are paying to have it done and compare the cost of doing it myself.

About what is the cost for it to be repacked? It's a 14' model 723 with 4" cylinder. How about 2 1/2" cylinders? Yeah, the FEL lift is sagging too. Middle age is a pain...the front sags and the back droops!

Thanks,
jb

I was quoted $300.00 to rebuild the two long cylinders on my FEL. I managed to get them apart but after messing up the first set of $50.00 seals I took them to a hydraulics shop to have them put back together. They charged me $150.00 and I supplied the seals. If I hadn't messed up the first set of seals I would have saved $100.00 by taking them apart and doing the clean up, as it was I only saved $50.00

Repacked, and resealed both my dozer lift cylinders, and my IH3444 dipper cylinder. Big jobbies, but not bad to do.
