My tractor is 55 hp MFWD and about 8000# so might be a little light for the 950. However, I need a heavy blade, the ground here is almost like concrete when it's dry. I have a wide range of soils that I have to deal with including the occasional rock. I do have and have used and understand how draft control works. On a different tractor I've had a rear blade without a tail wheel before and added one later on, but it was way to light to accomplish anything, but the tail wheel showed promise for what I wanted to do.

I appreciate all your inputs. So, I plan to talk to my dealer mid December to see what the cost is both with and without the hydraulic cylinders. And I'll check cost of both skid shoes and tail wheel. I will need to add the electric solenoid valves to the tractor so that's an additional cost. I've checked the auction sites to see what's available and was surprised at the listed prices, so I'll have to see what the dealer comes up with.

As for the hydraulic solenoids - I found a set available thru Summit Hydraulics and I'm sure there are others, but have not found quite the configuration I want other than Summit's. So a question for MtnViewRanch - where did you get your's?

And does anyone have the hydraulic cylinder sizes for the blade so I can see how much the price difference is with generic vs rhino cylinders?

First off, an 8000lb tractor should serve you well for either blade that you are considering.

I sell the diverter valves and controls as well as the cylinders, but I do not know what stroke is required for the Rhino blades and like you, do not see any cylinder sizes listed any place. You will need to confirm the strokes required to get an accurate cost from anyone. I just watched a video with an 850 blade getting used and I would guess that the tilt cylinder is a 6" stroke and the offset and angle cylinders are either 14" or 16" stroke. Need to confirm though.

I can typically provide the angle and offset cylinders with hoses and male couplers shipped to you for $500-$600. Just guessing that the tilt cylinder set would add another $200 including the additional shipping costs. This cost is based on what is required for a Land Pride RBT35 series blade.

If you want an actual quote for the items that you will need for your addition, fill out the contact page on my website and we can go from there. ;)
