Hydraulic disposal

What do you guys do with your hydraulic fluid after a change. My Kioti holds about 11 Gal. A friend told me he uses to burn his wood/brush piles. Will any place take it for free.

Not sure what regulations you have in your area - we don't have any here - but it burns great.

i don't know if you have an O'reilly auto parts where you are but I know they will take hyd, gear, and engine oil

Thanks for the answers. I do have O'reilly auto parts and TSC withing 25 Miles of the house. Too bad we can't sell it. I am sure they'll recycle it for a profit.

Each spring, our transfer station/recycling center for the Township, has a special day. Bring anything and everything. Toxics, paints, oils, batteries, anything. Highly supportive of this effort. Wish they took stuff like that all the time, but I understand the special handling needs.

Don't know if it get cold enough in your area for guys to have a waste oil furnace's in their shops, but mine loves it..!! A free ad on Craigslist usually does the trick, if you don't want to make a special trip to town.

Mix it with bar oil for the chainsaw, from 1/4 to 1/2 mix depending on temp.
Although Oregon chain recomends against the practice, alot of feller bunchers and log processors use a bleed line from the hydraulic system to lube the chainsaw bars instead of a dedicated bar oil tank.
