Kubota L5030 HST
I finished installing a WR Long electric valve kit on my L5030 today. Not trivial, but not too hard either. It ends in a pair of quick-disconnect fittings on a flange bolted to the cross-member where the hydraulics cross to the otherside of the FEL. Very slick - holes lined right up with the bolts already there. So far, so good.

Earlier this week I stopped by my Kubota dealer and picked up a quick-disconnect pair. I had the flange from the WR Long kit with me to confirm that it fits. I figured when the Millonzi grapple arrived I'd be good to go.

Well, I picked up the grapple yesterday and the connectors don't fit. Best I can figure, the Millonzi came with 1/2" connectors and the quick-disconnect I have is 3/8" So I headed off to Northern Tool with both - the QD and a hose from the grapple.

I was able to find a 1/2" quick disconnect that fit the hose but it's too big for what's on the flange. With help from an associate, we tried to find an adapter. There are JIC, NPT, ISO, all of various sizes and shapes. Nothing fit but I just don't know now what I even have!

Best I can describe the hose connector is 1/2" and looks like the end of a garden hose - no taper like some fittings have. I tried looking online and since I'm not sure what I have it's darn hard to find what I need :(

Does any of this make sense to anybody? I feel like such an idiot with these connectors and trying to describe them.

Thanks!

Pic's of the quick-disconnects and hoses would help!

Welcome to the wonderful world of hydraulic fittings. To confuse you even more there are even metric hyd. fittings. With what you are dealing with you would be better off going to a hydraulic shop.Take all your hoses with you and explaine what you are trying to do. They won't be as cheap as Northern but their experience is worth the price. In the long run it may even be cheaper getting the right fittings the first time and not running back to the store half a dozen times to get what you think you need.

Go to Discount Hydraulic Hose. They have several downloadable product catalogs listed under Product Literature with pictures. Your problem is that there are several manufacturers and types of QD connectors and they are not all compatible with each other, even when the male and female fit.

Well, Tractor Service Center to the rescue. Not hard at all - NPT = "Pipe" and they had what I needed.

Thanks for all the suggestions!
