Oil & Fuel Hydraulic fittings leaking.

I guess I am on borrowed time with seeing all the posts on hydraulic leaks. 1500 hrs on my BX and never a leak of any kind. I bought it new in 2011. I have worked it hard much of it in forest. I am hard pressed to believe a dealer shop will check every nut and bolt and every fitting, especially torque. Everybody has a certain level of calculated risk.

Very true. If grease isnt caked around every joint withing 50 hours either you arent greasing it enough or you are detailing it like a sports car, not a tractor (to each, his own on that one I guess).

You shouldn't have many if any NPT "pipe thread" fittings. Those require teflon paste or if you are really careful, teflon tape. Most of the fittings on a modern Kubota are going to be JIC fittings. You dont use any teflon on those.

Fittings do loosen up, but it's not common, at least for them to come off completely. You should do a walk around before operation & look for any leaks. Tighten stuff up if needed. It can be difficult due to the normal operational grease & oil everywhere.

Generally I'll replace a hose rather than haul the machine to the dealer, but my dealer will get me a hose for free under warranty. It's easier for me to do the work than load & haul the tractor. I have te trailer & haul it often for jobs too, dealer is under 30 minutes away.
