Hydraulic fluid

I have a Hercules 3304b Chinese tractor, the original fluid was 80 weight , will the hydraulics work using regular hydraulic fluid or is the system designed to work on 80 weight . I'm flushing the system now and have diesel in the system now, but the hydraulics is not working. I would appreciate any help on this, also if any is trying to find parts for Chinese tractors, type in Asian tractor parts, ken has been great with his time and knowledge about these tractors,

I would put back in the same stuff you took out. Only concern would be it solidifying in your Alaskan winter. Not sure if they were planning on a real winter! But the pump clearances may be too big for a thin fluid. You could try std fluid (which is about 30wt) and see. If it works, it works.
