? Hydraulic GPM on TC40D to run rockhound

Guess I'll either rent the whole package or a Harley rake. Don't want to spend the time and have poor results.

I guess I'll stick my neck out here and say that while we may not all be loggers who eat pine cones as Twinkies, the term "Wannabe" is pretty derisive, and I would wager that dam near anybody would take offense to it.

You seem like a nice guy based on your other posts, maybe you had a bad day.

Sorry if I offended anyone, sure didnt mean to but I can see how it may have sounded abrasive. Dont get me wrong a TC 40 is a really nice machine but it was meant as an estate tractor, not for agriculture. I recently read a thread where this guy wanted to use a 3 bottom plow with a 35HP CUT, that guy needed a slap in the face or at least a very VOCAL disclaimer. These tractors werent designed for such tasks unlike some even very old ones ,i.e. Ford 8n with draft control and some others. I own a small Ford 1310 which runs 6.3 gpm and I wouldnt dream of running an implement off it other than maybe a chute on the snowblower. 20-30 gpm now you are talking /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

True it is not a true Agriculture tractor, but you need to get out more. Try telling what you are saying to the thousands of contractors that use these tractors every day for every type of use. I don't think that you know the capability of the larger frame tractors. No offense, but you are really coming off as if you don't know anything about compact use, especially the larger ones.

Another nail in this guys coffin is that these tractors are marketed towards the weekend end farmer. I have many guys that use these tractors for making hay including running a baler with no problems.

A TC40D with a square baler? Really? I've been told by dealers that it doesn't weigh enough and the plunger/packer mechanism's movement will push it down a hill...

Just wanted to chime in on 'hooters' behalf on this one with a different perspective.

As a new cut owner ( TC40D) I think I get where he's coming from. I don't take his 'wannabe' statement as an offense, and here's why.

His profile says his experience is with larger tractors. I know many full time ag types in my area who were quietly amused at me 'cute lil' ttractor' one even asked: " Do you expect to pull that ( my 7 ft Woods rotary) with your tractor?"

He was serious, the question was not intended as a slap. It came from a place of having worked 80hp rigs his whole life.....This guy was not familiar with the agility and power in some of the smaller tractors.

Even the guy I got my tractor from said, during our pre purchase Q&A: " If you wanna do a man's work, get a man sized tractor"

So what's the point, choreboy.....?

Those with a lotta seat time on larger tractors doubt the capability of cuts....Conversely, we new cut owners _sometimes_ over estimate the capabilities of our rigs....

Some of us may attempt, or at least muse over tasks that are beyond the ratings of our tractors. Who in the forum has not had the " I wonder if my tractor could...." dream?
