Will - did you say TSC in BRADFORD???? Where?

On the pie shop lot at Younge street and Holland Landing road. It is the 'Pie' shaped lot West of the old Federal Farms Plants, North of that trucking company. All the local business were informed of who was building, just gotta hope they do it soon. Bradford is closer than Alliston.

I hate to turn this thread into dog food (beat a dead horse). It seems to me that hydraulic hoses are manufactured to SAE specs and connectors should also be manufactured to SAE specs so as long as they are crimped to SAE specs then you should be good.

Also I keep hearing of hoses that come flying apart during use. Has anybody ever done or seen report from a failure analysis that said it was a mismatch or was the hose not made properly. I'm guessing a Parker hose with Paker connectors that isn't put together right will come apart as well.

Heck it wouldn't take much to build a machine to do a stress test on hose.

Things to consider
(1) Hose Pressure
(2) Hose Ends-JIC, British, MP, FP, Flatface,etc
(3)Hose type(1wire, 2wire)
(4) Hose Brand(Gates, Parker, Weatherhead)anything else is a a cheaper hose and cheaper quality without the branding(typically sold at TSC, farm stores, good hoses sold at implement dealers and speciality hyd shops.

Yep, meets the minimum SAE spec. If it were a student in school, your cheap internet hoses would grade a D-. Sure they pass, but I don't want anything with a D-.

My shop counter is littered with these from my competition. It's usually from putting one brand crimp on another brand hose or putting a new crimp on an old hose. On SAE 100R2 hose, your run of the mill 2-wire hose, the crimp bites the hose cover. When the hose gets some age, the cover weakens and now some ignoramous tries to put a crimp on old, weathered covers.

Heck it wouldn't take much to build a machine to do a stress test on hose.

We all have these testers. Just pull the lever and hold it.
