Hydraulic leak when PTO engaged

Behind the PTO valve there are two test ports for the HST. Many people have experienced leaks in this area. Are you sure that the leak is from the PTO?

Is your tractor HST or shuttle? I don't remember.

Shuttle.

I'm pretty sure its one of the o-rings. I watched it tonight after running it for awhile. I had thought it may be leaking from the check valve but I doubt it.

I'll try replacing the orings with new ones and see what happens. If it doesn't work I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and pay $50 for the 3 o-rings from NH.

There is only about a tablespoon of fluid after each time I run it.

I think I got it.

I replaced the o-rings again and I also tightened the cap nut over the check valve. The cap nut was pretty loose. I suspect that may have been where the leak was all along.
