So I finally got to put some time on my New 4310. I was Box Blading a driveway for a friend of mine. About an hour into the project hydraulic fluid started spewing out of the Power Beyond hose, it was so loose you could turn the connection with your fingers, needless to say I was a little upset. Tried to tighten the connection but it still leaked, ended up having to use teflon tape to stop the leak. Has anyone else had a persistent leak like this? Is there something better to use than teflon tape?? Should one be putting some type of thread sealant on all fittings?? Thanks

I just installed my Power Beyond kit last week and in addition have used Parker hydraulic fittings like the ones in the kit for years in industrial applications and can come up a few thoughts.
One possability is that the kit was improperly installed with respect to torque values on the fittings. If there is too little torque it will leak and if there is too much torque the O-ring either deforms or rips and a leak results, especially after the unit has been ran awhile and the fluid is hot (thereby thinner). The correct torque values are given in the documentation provided with the kit. Often tighter isn't better (which was the way I was raised).
Thread sealant is not used on O-ring fittings, only on standard fittings; the O-ring provides the seal.
Another thing to check is that the RCV filter was correctly installed with the word "out" facing the correct line.
