you just mentioned 2 inspection covers.... them side ones probbaly weight no more than a pound and have a few bolts holding them in... what ya waitin for?

You have to empty the transmission oil first (35 litres if my memory is good). If you open one choose the left side where the gauge is. The other side implies taking off and putting back the lever controlling the PTO, which is not very easy. When the plate is off, you can see the hydraulic pump in the bottom and the complicated controls meant mainly to avoid accidents if your plow gets stuck. In my opinion it would be more useful to take off the small plate under the seat where the oil arrives from the pump and see if the vertical metal tube underneath is still in position with an O ring at both ends. Careful, there is a third O ring flat under the plate.

Here you can see the small plate and metal tube I meant.

sometimes ya just have to get yer hands dirty. fords have these same inspection plates.. for the same reason. as for the pto shifter being difficult? I guess if opening a jar of peanut butter is difficult than the pto shifter will be difficult...??

in the end.. you can guess... or observe... one of those choices makes it alot easier and cheaper to fix said machine.. ;)
