All of mine kinda blew up at once. I had to take them off and measure them and write down the fittings. Many hydraulic shops and some auto supply shops can build you new cables. Don't skrimp on good cable material. Most shops will give estimates over the phone, but with all the loader cables, it will not be cheap.

Nope. You need custom hoses the exact length.

Premade stuff is usually in 6" or 12" increments.....and you dont want to be too short (obviously) but too long is also just as bad on a backhoe. Everything is tight and you dont have room to "waste" 8" of extra hose somewhere that isnt needed.

And besides that....most "premade" hoses have JIC fittings that match the hose size. IE.....1/2" hose and 1/2" (-08) Jic ends. And Im pretty sure most them old ford backhoes upsized the fitting one notch. So a 1/2" hose would have a 5/8" JIC end crimped on.

And when it comes to backhoes....hose routing can be a PITA. Do the hoses one at a time OR tank VERY detailed drawings, pictures, and label EVERTHING.

But for them ones that are tough to route.....or some that run through the boom or swing post......when you pull out the OLD hose (because you need to do that to take a measurement)....while pulling the hose out, have a string tied to the other end so that the string ends up in place of the hose.

When installing the new hose, tie one end to the string and pull it back through.

There are some guide charts available to help know your JIC fittings and hose. Have sourced good hoses from Surplus Center that have high quality extra tough hoses. Depends on the ends wether you can adapt or need custom ends or lengths. After a few hoses broke, did all the hoses from Surplus Center for a Kubota B20.

A good hydraulic shop can be helpful too. Use your phone for pictures and notes when replacing lines.

Always worried about replacing the lines going from the tractor to backhoe boom on my 4500. Luckily they never broke. Think it does take some special wrenches to make/break some connections.
