hydraulic motor for snowblower chute rotator

Hello,

I am looking to add a hydraulic chute rotator to my Kubota BX2360 with a BX2750 front mount snowblower. Can anyone provide with the proper size hydraulic motor to use for this purpose? I will be using the FEL valve to run the motor. From other forum posts I have all the details I need to build this just not the proper motor size.

How easy is it to turn by hand. If very easy, then a small hyd motor geared down will work. A 10 tooth sprocket driving a 30 tooth sprocket is a 3 to 1 ratio, and torque of the hyd motor is X 3

The current hand crank turns real easy. I was just adding this for convenience since I had the spare hydraulic lines. I was looking at setting it up similar to the photo attached. So I wanted a motor sized properly for this situation.

Any hyd motor will turn when you provide flow and it has sufficient torque to turn the end product.

In this case, if appears to be a snow blower chute, and you say the chute turns easy. The rpm of the motor will be determined by the GPM provided and the displacement of the hyd motor. The larger the displacement in cu in, the smaller rpm range. For instance,

5 GPM and 10 cu in, will provide up to 116 rpm.

5 GPM and 3 cu in, will provide up to 385 rpm.

The valve can vary the speed of the motor , and restrictors will limit the speed of the motor.

This motor is cheap enough and although the cu in dis placement is 4.75, if you gave it a max or 2 GPM, it would run at 97 rpm. Now, if you use a small GPM motor spool valve, the feather action could turn it at any speed up to 97 rpm.

You could also use a solenoid valve to provide fwd and rev, and use a needle valve to set or change speed.

You could use the spring method as shown, or sprocket and chain and chain to change the speed and torque.

You can probably get a fair idea of size, flow and torque by scanning the parts break down at sites like Loftness.

Kubota now offers a hydraulic rotator kit for that model blower. I don't know what they cost but your dealer has them listed in the current wholegoods book.
