Have been looking into adding on 2 or 3 extra hydraulic valves, (grapple, t&t, etc.) Has anyone used the one from V&M Inc. Wondering if they are good or bad?

I had the V&M multiplier on my previous tractor for operating a grapple. A nice unit, and seemed to be good people to deal with.

I want add that for the grapple but was wondering if I could also add a valve to that so I would be able to run a set of hoses out the back to use for a tilt and top link setup. Can this be done? I thought their handle setup would be the way to go but am asking members if this could be done as I'm not that familiar with hydraulics. By the way, this is going on a L3400HST w/fel.

Do you remember the cost, and do you know if an add on valve to that would be ok to use for a rear remote for a top and tilt setup?

With hydraulics, you usually just get what you pay for.

Buy a brand name like Bosch, Sauer, Rexroth, get 15.000 hrs of service (e.g. on an excavator)
Buy cheap Italian hydraulics for 1/4 the price, get 3750 hrs leak free operation.

The cheap ones are good enough for agricultural use. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I want to rephrase some of my nomenclature in my post. I want to add a grapple (homemade) to my tractor and use an electric solenoid valve not multiplier valve. I want to use 3 valves if possible. One for the grapple, and the other two for a top and tilt setup using a addon push button handle that you put on the fel control handle. Can this be done or is there a better way? Thanks

You are getting a lot of hydraulics there.......

Are you coming off of the loader ports, currently you have 2 pair?

And you want to retain those 2 pair.
Add a pair for the grapple.
Add a pair for the Top.
Add a pair for the Tilt.

So you will end up with 5 pairs of remotes.

Since you are starting out 'borrowing' one pair from the loader, you will need 4 outputs from your device - if you are adding one device to accomplish all of this.

I'm not sure the best way to go about that.

What is the difference between an electric selinoid valve, and a multiplier valve? Does the multiplier use physical levers, insted of electical to do their thing?

I'm going to have to do some research.... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif do you have links to any of the manufaturers you are mentioning, which devices you are looking at?

Ok, first thing that popped up in Google was V&M Inc. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif It sounds expensive, have you priced it out? My understanding is you would need 4 outputs, as you will be using one, & need to power 4 items from it. Should work, as far as that goes.

Thanks for grtting back Rambler. I am not to savey on hydraulics yet (trying to learn though). I am going to come off my fel ports, so the way I think it would be is that I would need to keep the fel, plus add three valves, one for grapple, one for top tilt, and one for side. I'm not sure if there is any diff between electric valve and mulitiplier valve, but I didn't get any responses using the term multiplier. Two manufactures I saw were V&M and Vickers. Will price them tomorrow. I want the valves to be operated by a button type handle on the fel. I like the Idea that I could buy one valve now and add the other two when I'm ready to install the Top & Tilt. I'm also not sure how to come off the fel port. Tractor is a L3400HST, does any anyone have say a picture of what port to come off. Please bear with me as I'm new to hydraulics, but am trying to learn.

Your Owners/Operators manual should show a diagram of the front hydraulic block. The hoses from the loader valve connect to this block. Some blocks have 3 hose connections (to implement, from implement and to tank) while some have 2 (the tank connection is not there). The loader valve's power beyond outlet will be connected to the hydraulic block connection labeled "from implement outlet" or something similar. Remember, the implement here is the loader valve.

Connections to your aux valve are relatively simple and I have described it here many times.

By front hydraulic block do you mean the one on the side (the pump)? From the pump to the electric valve to the front loader valve? Or from pump to front loader valve and then to electric valve?
