You have a major problem that needs to be fixed ASAP. Like Chris said parts will start to give up and when it is seals, the pieces will go all through the system and cause even more problems. From the sound of it, something wasn't set up right from the dealer. What I would do is buy or borrow a IR heat gun. Use it to shoot all the hoses, fitting, lines, fittings and everything in between. That will let give you a real good chance of finding the problem.

I finally found out what my problem was.........a main pressure bypass that was set way too low. I put a gauge on it and it was bypassing at 900 lbs. rather than 2000 lbs. as designed.

I can now work the hoe as long as I want and I can lay my hand on the hoses as long as I want.

Glad you got that figured out, Jack. As I said before, you must be able
to test the pressures on these hoes when you first get them. The main
relief valve set at 900psi is extraordinarily low. Didn't your contact at
your dealer suggest that?

My oil still gets pretty hot after working the hoe hard for an hour. Since
my hoe uses a detented aux valve's work port, I am sure that I get
extra heating of the oil by the restrictions in the flow path. A power beyond
loop should be less restrictive.

I bet you now think that you got a totaly new hoe. With three times the pressure it must realy dig! I'm glade you got it fixed, now go have some fun it it.
