I bought stuff this morning for the 250 hr maintenance on the 2025R. Costed about $100 exclusive of the coolant, which I already have.

The parts guy showed me a chart where it shows an internal filter in addition to the spin-on filter. I told him that I think there's only a suction screen there that is the same shape as what the 4010's oil filter is.

Could this internal filter be for the 2025E? The 4010 is basically a 2019E if they made it today. No spin-on hydraulic filter on the 2025E?

I just plan on taking the spin-on off with a pan underneath. Any oil lost coming off and back on will just get filtered through a coffee filter and put back in. Certainly not gonna change out the hydraulic oil. For the 4010, I had to because it's smack dab in the reservoir.

Yes, the picture shows it with the magnets. The 2025R has a screen the shape and size of the filter (on the 4010 and maybe the 2025E) with the magnets in it.

Mine is Gen-1, thank goodness. Still have steering brakes.

I was curious as you mentioned the "250 hour" service and that you didn't intend to change the hydraulic fluid. I don't see a service interval for 250 hrs but there was an initial 50-hr service and a 200-hr service, both of which listed changing the hydraulic fluid, filters and cleaning the suction screen.

After First 50 Hours
Change engine oil and filter.
Change transmission oil and filter.
Clean transmission suction screen and internal magnets.

Every 200 Hours
Change engine oil and filter.
Change transmission oil and filter.
Clean transmission suction screen and internal magnets.
Inspect alternator belt.
Check wheel bolt torque.

It's the 200 hour service, which occurs first at 250 hours.

I do not see the need to replace the hydraulic oil. Gonna unscrew the spin-on and screw the new one on and collect any oil that runs out. Hopefully, there won't be much run out. What is there to collect on the suction screen and all after the 50 hour change? Didn't really find anything there at 50 hours.

Gotta do the coolant whether it needs it or not. Into its 5th year. Should be good for 10 like on all other engines now. Certainly not gonna do a flush, just drain and refill. You flush with that chemical cleaner, and you'll likely never get it all out.

Your suppose to change the fluid according to JD. Why do you think otherwise?

Normally the hydraulic fluid is good for 400 hours, but this first hydraulic change, recommended at 200 hours is mainly because the initial use of the new equipment produces metal filings. The small metal filings float in the hydraulic fluid, and you can see them after changing fluid, and bigger ones are captured on the magnets.

Changed it at 50 hours. It'll go now for another 200 before it gets changed again. Can pick up those metal filings then, if I haven't changed to a Kubota B by then.
