High guys greetings from the Green Side of Yanmar. I love my 790. I know I know I could have loved for a smaller price had I gone Red. Yanmar makes great tractors in Red or Green.

Some time ago when searching for the answer to why JD wanted the 790 to use Low Viscosity Hydro fluid J20D instead of the less expensive regular viscosity J20C fluid. I noticed that no one seemed to list Yanmar in their spec sheets.

Finally a manufacturer that lists Yanmar.

I went through most of that sight. It was really interesting. I am still waiting for someone to explain the Japanese labeling of the Yanmar fluids. One Yanmar will have TF300 as the fluid to use in the transmission and others call for TF500. It is red in color. It seems to be different in weight to the JD 303 we are using to replace it. I know I put JD 303 in a Hinomoto with shuttle shift and it takes it a while to get going in colder weather.

The John Deere recommend fluid for many of the green Yanmars is Low Vioscosity ( 7.1 cSt@100degrees C ) a SAE 20 weight oil, ISO 48 and is red in color. The regular weight fluid is ( 9.5cSt@100 C) a SAE 30 weight oil, ISO 75. Maybe that is the difference between the Yanmar fluids
