2009 Club Cadet Yanmar EX2900
Question for you guys..I have a Yanmar EX2900 with a hydro transmission and front end loader. 330 hrs.
I did my 300hr service on it this past weekend and picked up vp racing lubricants ultra j20a. I neglected to read the fine print at Tractor Supply and it says for use in older pre 1990 tractors. Mine is a 2008.
Yanmar recommends TF500 and that is a J20A from the pictures I have see of the actual oil containers.
Thanks for the help. If I have to drain it, I will.

It's hard to find a good transhydraulic oil. Not nearly as easy as a quality motor oil. Expect that the price will be typically a little over $50 for a 2.5 gallon container.

I run John Deere HyGard Low Viscosity (winter) trans/hydraulic oil or sometimes I'll run Kubota SUDT2. Both of those are good for just about anything and they have the advantage of flowing well when cold. That's when I want the oil to be at its best to protect the hydraulic pumps, wet brakes, and especially the hydro transmission.

attached is something I found that shows compatibility with TF500. I run Shell HD from TSC, same as Donax TD, in my YT359C, no problems.

Thanks for the post. I found that information the other day before I bought the oil.
I guess the part I'm confused about is if the TF500 is a J20A, is there any harm in keeping it?
And if the container itself says J20A, why do none of those cross over sheets list a J20A oil?
Anyone know what viscosity the TF500 is?
