Hydraulic plug caps?

Hi

I just hooked up my JD 455 for winter use (ie putting on the snowthrower) and found the female hydraulic quick connectors on the tractor to be totally full of mud & crud from the summer's mowing.

They cleaned up okay... but I have seen photos of plastic caps that fit neatly in these connectors. But are they a standard type and size? I'm not even sure what to call them... any guidance so I know what to look for would be very helpful. Thank you!

I have included two separate links to hydraulic dust caps for female QD.
These may not be the correct ones for your application.
They come in sizes for different QD and styles.
Most hydraulic shops should carry them.
They are not very expensive and well worth it.

When I am measuring for size, is it the internal diameter of the female part that I should consider? Or... ?

See attached Spec sheet link. This is for one manufacturer and for 7241B QD's. The ones that you have should have a brand, series and number on them. The format of the numbers varies from brand to brand but if you look at them and state what they are we can probably help determine what you have. Numbers could be something like H3-62-T8, or NV-12-12, or H8-62 or a lot of other options depending upon the brand. Its an old thread but I realized I never said a thank you for the info here - I did eventually find a set of caps which work nicely for my tractor and keep the plugs & receptacles clean. Happy new year!
