Hydraulic post auger / front mounted 3rd function L6060?

I am considering a third function for the use of a loader mounted hydraulic post auger. I'm ordering a tractor in a few weeks and I'm debating a third function.

I have been researching this and have seen some conflicting information as to its effectiveness. Dealers also vary it recommending this attachment.

Can somebody school me on this it's completely new to me. I just spent the afternoon replacing shear pins and bending things on a conventional 3 point auger after screwing it in full speed into clay. Got to love clay, although I guess most would trade given rock!

I have a Danuser hydraulic auger and really like it. Make sure you select the hydraulic motor to match your hydraulic GPM on your tractor. Do not oversized the auger motor or you will not be able to spin the auger bit fast eneough to throw off the soil when you want to clear the bit. I use a rear remote but a 3rd function would work well. Match it to your GPM if they make the solenoid valve in different GPM sizes (no idea if they do). Do not run small hydraulic hoses to the front of the FEL, you need to have adequate flow to match your hydraulic GPM. You can get away with small hoses for a grapple but your auger needs as much flow as you can give it.

I use a loader mounted auger on my JD 4720. Think it is a Frontier (JD) brand. High torgue/low speed. Works great.

Depending on the soil type I dig part way then lift it up to clean it off. If it gets stuck on a rock I reverse it to back it out.
