I installed a LA853 front loader on my L5030HSTC tractor. My problem is when I go to lower the bucket by pushing lightly on the joystick the bucket goes UP! If I push the joystick HARD it will go down but not at the speed I might need depending on job I'm doing. And by having to push hard on the joystick I get a big bounce/jerk which shakes the tractor. Any ideas out there?

Does your 'curl' function normally??? If yes then I would suspect that your hoses to the loader lift arm cyls are reversed. The other issue could be that the lines to your joy stick 'in' could be reversed.

I think you have some back pressure.

Might look at the 3pt lever to see if it is in neutral.

Check all the QD's

Check for correct hoseconnection

A couple hoses might be interchanged at the hydraulic block or at the valve end. Found this diagram at K's website

Did you find and solve the problem?

Hi J.J.,

No I haven't but I had to be on the road for most of June. Hope to be back home before the 4th of July. I will look into what you suggested then. If I can't get to work you will hear from me! :)

Hear are some pictures of what I have. When I went out to take these I noticed that I have two different models. The "red" block came with the tractor and snow blower when I bought it new in 2004. The other block came with the loader and is the type installed on tractors without a cab. My tractor has the factory cab. The way the QD's are attached in these photos everything works correct except when I push the stick forward the bucket goes up. The only way the bucket can be lowered is by pushing the stick into the float position. If I connect the QD's color to color(red to red, etc.) Moving the stick side to side the bucket goes up and down and moving the stick front to back the bucket dumps and rolls.

Everything does not work correct.

Redo the hoses.

Connect the IN and OUT, and PB hose hoses. Leave the cyl hose off.

Leave tractor at idle. NO cyl hoses on the valve yet.

You might have a little mess but you will have it figured out.

Which ever port the fluid comes out of, connect that one.

Now push the stick fwd. The retract cyl hose on lift arm goes here.

Now pull back the lever a little to make fluid flow. The extend cyl hose goes here.

Push stick left. Bucket hose retract goes here.

Push stick right. Bucket extend hose goes here. It is the last hose anyway.

Hi, JJ,

Call me a dummy, but how do I tell a retract cyl hose from a extend cyl hose?

Update! Finally dawned on me that the extend hose is at the opposite end of the ram and the extract is at the ram end.
