I have a ym240 2 wheel drive yanmar. I recently blew a hydraulic hose. It had good pressure when I took it off. It lost about 1/3 of it's fluid. It was time to change it so I drained the rest of the fluid and put in new. Now it has no pressure and the 3 pt doesn't work. Is there a screen or filter and if so where? Or any other advice ? Thank you for any help.

Yes there is a filter/screen located on the side of the trans. left?? If you go to page two and look at post "hydro sys. filter",, you will see what the cover of the screen looks like. Is your tractor power shift?? If so you should have used trans/hydrolic fluid. You have prolly got air in your system. But since you have already filled it with new oil, when you take the filter out you will have a lot of fluid run out... Shoulda done that first!!!!! good luck!!!!!!

Peek in tranny dip-stick hole/engine running/clutch in. no flow/maybe shear pump pin or busted pump? my guess?:)

Thanks for posting back. I cleaned the filter and it still doesn't work. Before I take the pump apart is it posible I have air in the line that's preventing the pump from pumping and drawing oil? If so how do I bleed it out? Thanks

"Before I take the pump apart"-----check for flow in res(trans-housing) yet? i think air should purge?

changed my fluid & cleaned the screen several times. Have never had air in the system issues. Check pump shaft key or fluid circulation

You may want to try a quick 'field' check.

Crack open a high pressure line, spool up your engine with the decompression handle pulled out and you should see immediate pressurized fluid come from the open line. If you do then the pumps OK. If not, most probably a sheared key in the pump...

(Don't release the decompression handle and start your tractor)

How did you make out? Does your pump sound like it's cavitating in the discharge line? Also when you first put the filter on did it work fine and then go or it just never worked?
