Hydraulic pumps do wear out but they should have a very long life if properly cared for. What is not lifting properly? three point hitch? Loader? Does it lift slowly or is it fast but weak? If the hydraulic filter has not been changed lately , then you should do that first. The relief valve could also be weak or leaking which will not allow pump to build pressure. The seals could also be worn in rockshaft cylinder or loader cylinder. Pumps are pricey, so be sure it is bad before you replace it.
Thanks for the reply! Yes I changed the filter and oil Freq. (Transmission) Its the loader, replaced all the seals on that also. replaced the springs on the flow divider, didn't help. 1400 hrs with hard work on this tractor. $400 for a new pump, wanna make sure its the pump.
Did this problem come on gradually or was it a sudden change? If it happened suddenly I would suspect the relief valve. Pumps usually wear out gradually over a period of time. Also if the loader still raises pretty quickly with an empty bucket, that points more toward the relief valve also. A worn pump is usually slow even without a load and slows down substantially more with a load.
My guess is relief valve, after reading. It just doesn't lift the weight it use too. Also I have to push the forward pedal to give it more muscle. Then it lifts stronger. I don't understand why relief valve.
