Hydraulic Pumps Leaking again!

This is a really bizzar situation.

I've run my hydraulics for hours on end, to the point where I can feel the heat from my backhoe valve assembly, on and off the bypass the entire time.

I've run other machine's hydraulics for hours, constantly on and off the bypass digging stumps, big rocks, etc. I mean literally hours, until my body was sore and I needed a break, but not the machine.

I've had one pump failure, was on my little backhoe and the outer o-ring rolled on it's self and the pump dumped oil. I replace the o-ring and kept right on going for another couple hundred hours at least until I sold the machine, with no problems what so ever.

I just don't get your problem at all, the system should be designed for anything you can throw at it.

Therefore, with what I've said above, I can't help but think there is either something in particular wrong with the machine from the begining. Or someone is running the bypass 100% of the time.

I just don't get it.

Joel I agree, I recently was getting some trees out from a tornado blow down for my sawmill. I have a top & tilt w/rear remotes. Somehow I hit the tilt which has a detent & it got stuck in the max "up" position. I ran the tractor for well over a half & hour, before noticing the whine. I stopped and checked the hydro fluid level and when I reached past the tilt cylinder to grab the stick and burned my arm on the cylinder. It then dawned on me what had happened and the source of the whine.

That happened about 40 hrs ago.....so far no ill effects. I do not like those detents & wonder what their purpose really is other than to tear up a system. My top cylinder does not have one on it, only the side. If a few min of this will burn up a hydro pump, then any valve with a detent should be yanked off the tractor.

I don't disagree with you guys, but I'm kinda at the mercy of Kioti unless I want to pay someone else to do a full check of the system.

Jay, I don't want to start up a thread locker, but did you ever get reimbursed for the original pump replacement?

No, total cost for the replacement pump was $1200.

I did speak with Kioti again this time around and they said if this new leak turned up another problem with the hydraulic system they would review their initial stance on the warranty. Obviously a leaking o-ring didn't warrant that.

Jay, I just hope you get satisfaction, a proper opperating machine and a couple thousand functional hours out of your machine.

Sincerely,
Joel
