Just went to the NH dealer. The parts are $225.00. I think I'll at least TRY to find them at home before I dump that much cash on 2 little parts that easily fit in the palm of your hand. Ouch!

I work maintenance for the Sheriff's department & we have sirens we take apart when they die or are involved in an accident. The magnets are so powerful you can hardly pull them off of a piece of steel. I imagine if I roll one of them around on the ground near where I think I lost the parts I'll pick them up. It's crushed rock im working on. I was so careful to not loose the parts but I guess even with the precautions I took I still lost them. The poppet is what's so expensive. It's $145.00 alone. If the magnet trick doesn't work I'll go get Dad's metal detector!
Look what I found at the bottom of one of the 5 gal buckets I drained the old hydraulic fluid into...
...... I wouldnt have plugged it with my thumb but the fluid wasnt coming out fast at all. Thanks for the tip!
The advice was good but there is a difference between a pin hole on a pipe/ hose under pressure where it shoots out few oz of hyd @ 1500-2000 psi and what you did. An open ended pump discharge will not cause pressure anywhere close to operating pressure. The design nature of Positive displacement pump and flow restriction in the form of relief valve/spring is cause of high pressure developed. Skin puncture was not a huge risk in your situation.
