Anybody got any experience with a 755 and hooking up the rear hydraulic kit (for a backhoe)? All the lines are on but no flow. Is there a valve or somthing that needs turning on? I got it used so I don't have the instruction manual. Thanks for any help

There is no special valve to turn, but it is necessary to install a special
diverter plug into an internal port in the rockshaft cylinder head. The
part number is PT13744. This is a MAJOR task requiring removal of both
fenders and the front seat mounting bracket plus disconnecting MFWD and
transaxle linkages. The procedure is described in the Installation
Instructions (M115181) that come with the kit. It is 12 pages long and
contains many photos. You will need this in order to install the plug.

I recommend you order the plug and the Instructions from your JD dealer. If
the dealer has installed such a kit on other tractors he will probably still
have these instructions on file. If your local dealer doesn't have them,
then try another. Any dealer who sold a JD backhoe on 755, 855, and 955
tractors had to first install the diverter plug so someone undoubtedly has
the Instructions available.

If all else fails, E-Mail me with your mailing address and I will send you a
photocopy of my instructions. No guarantee on quality since there are many
dark photos that may not come through clearly on another copy. You will
still have to order the diverter plug.

Good luck.

Wow thanks for the quick reply. I will order the plug and the instruction manual from my dealer on Monday. I also suspect that this plug will need to be removed from the tractor the backhoe was on (955)I will tell the dealer that I bought it from that he has some additional work to do. At first he didn't want to sell the backhoe without the tractor but I beat him down and he finally relented. Now he might be regretting it. He wanted me to pay the removal labour so I told him I would bring my own tools and take the brackets etc off. He agreed to remove the equipment. Thanks again

One last thing. I've installed two of these kits in the past. On each one at least one of the main bolts holding the valve body together broke when I took it off. I find out that they were not properly tightened when first installed. Get your torque wrench ready when you put it back together. If you get stuck on this let me know. I've got the manuals. Thanks for your reply. The plug was installed last weekend in about an hour and a half. My tractor is always indoors when not used so nothing was siezed or broke. Hoe works very well. Just got to get the controls down pat.
