I would like to purchase a hydraulic top link, primarily for use with a box blade. When my box blade is level the top link is 28" center-to- center; how much retraction and extension from level do I need?

My recommendation would be for a 22"-32" working length. Gets you a little bit more retraction than extension and that can work in your favor when you have conditions-situations when you need the implement raised up higher.

You can use your mechanical top link to find the feasible min and max lengths and use that as rough guidance. Hydraulic top links I see that would work have ranges of 22-30", 24-32", and 26-34".

I can't add anything more than has already been said, but I will put a plug in for Brian at Fit Rite....great hydraulic top link setups! The one he built for my LS was perfect, and it simply toyed with a 1,400lb implement.

Same here, happy with my gear from MtnViewRanch (same guy).

Are you ever planning to buy a 3ph Quick Hitch? That would change things a little...
