The cylinder and valve are on order.
There was a post recently by kennyd about which port on the John Deere block is the feed and which is the return. If I remember correctly, it is the rear most port=feed and front most=return. I can't find that thread so I cannot verify if that is in fact what Kenny said. On my 2305, that would make the feed on the power beyond be in the hose with the male end. My experience is with air rather than with hydraulics, in which case the feed is always in a pipe or hose with a female end.
I believe that it will matter to the valve which is feed and which is return so I need to identify which is which.
Do I remember your post correctly or am I mistaken.
How can I identify which is which without the shop manual for the tractor?

Sorry Robert, I don't think it was me. I am not sure on the 2305 which is the OUT and IN ports, and it DOES matter. The bracket that held the PB QD's on my 4110 where marked IN and OUT.
Thanks Kenny, you are right, it wasn't you, it was Jim whose pictorial you sent me. His is a 2520 and has the same loader valve as mine but the block where the PB lines are connected is not the same. On mine the hoses come out from the top rather than from the bottom.
I am bringing the tractor to the dealer for a replacement of that crappy seat that comes with a 2305 with backhoe so I will ask the mechanics which one is the feed. When operating the 3pt hitch, one of the hoses moves a bit while the other does not. Also, with my hand on the hoses while operating the 3pt, I can feel a slight pulse in one of the hoses but not in the other so I am assuming that the active one is probably the feed.
