Hydraulic/transmission fluid for JD 1530

Just bought about a month ago and am changing all the fluid. I have made up my mind on the motor oil and filter. I know there are better products out there that what the JD dealer sells, whether they are cheaper or more expensive.I would really appreciate some advice on what fluid and filter to use, and best way to drain and fill system.

If your system uses the standard JD 303 ( check yer manual).. then you can find about 20 different brands of UTF that meet the 303 spec. You don't like JD 303 fluid?

TSC and napa, and even wallmart make a utf fluid that is equivalent to jd303, hytran, hyguard, NH m2c134d.. etc..

( I run the TSC utf in my stuff calling for a universal transdraulic fluid. )

Thanks Soundguy, I have nothing against the deere 303. Just was wondering if I could use something as good at a cheaper price or better at a higher price. I do not have a manual for the tractor. Thanks again for your imput!
