Most of my work is done on some steep hills with some hidden holes and such, I find my self on situations that requires a lot of diff lock work and I've been getting away with it but I want to have another place in case the diff lock doesn't make it.
So I decided to build a hydraulic winch for my Branson F36Rn tractor since I had most of the stuff anyway. Just need to buy the cable and the hook.
Ended up being a 6000 lbs winch with a weight of 130 lbs that will work nice with the 224 lbs weights that came with the tractor. It was still a bit light with the brush hog on. I won't use this as a logging winch. This is purely for get tractor out of a stuck situation. It has about 160 feet of steel rope and free spool option with a brake so it doesn't unwind like crazy. The drum is supported by 2 bearing on each side.
I also made a bumper so it pushes the brush away from the hood of the tractor preventing from scratching the paint which also made the perfect spot for a couple of small LED light bars.
Everything works awesome, I'm really happy with it.
