I want to build a Curtis type blade setup for my tractor, I am curremtly looking for a 5' or 6' blade.

Here is my dumb question...
Since I have no hydraulic remotes, can I just level the blade with the loader control, then disconnect the hoses from the DSCV that go to the dump cylinders and connect the angle cylinder to the DSCV? Will the blade stay level with the pressure of plowing?
Adding remotes will make the project not feasable at this time due to the cost. And a manually angled blade just is not as much fun!

Thanks..
Ken

In short, yes.

When you have more money, look into a manual diverter valve so that you don't have to keep connecting and disconnecting the hoses; just push the valve in and you have the dump function, pull the valve out and you have the angle function.

Then, when you get even more money, swap out the manual diverter for an electric one with a pushbutton on the loader joystick. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I used to have a JD 2010(45hp) with a 394 Allied FEL,here is what I did. I used a 71/2' fisher hyd. angle plow. I would take the bucket off. retract the dump cyls and mount the plow "A" frame to the lift arms on the FEl, I had to make up some pipe spacers to keep the plow centered between the FEL arms, then I took a piece of chain and attached it to the plow and then to the cross tube on the FEL arms. Then I unhooked the dump cly hoses and pluged my angle cyl. hose in there. Believe me it worked very well. I could pile snow higher with that then I ever could with a bucket. Just let the FEL down far enought so that there is slack in the chain then the plow is riding on the shoes if it digs too much rasie it.

If you have a TSC close, they have the valve MR spoke about for $54. That is what it is at mine.

Yes, I have a TSC close(2 of them /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif), and I have seen the manual diverters. The lines feeding the loader quick disconnects are steel though, so I am not sure how to plumb that but understand the theory.

The electric diverter is a mystery to me, please share some names/manufacturer's so I can do some research...

The electric diverter is just a solenoid controled valve, with the electric push button mounted where-ever...

You would need to place the valve in the hose between the tractor and the loader.

Thanks for all the replies...

Today I looked at the manual diverter's at TSC, No I am confused(easy to do). The have 1 input and 2 outputs. so it seems I would need 2 of them for this to work? Sounds like a plumbing/operating nightmare /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Who makes the electric diverter's?

TSC doesn't carry the 6 way anymore apparently. That is what you need. Bailey has them at Bailey. The price is $61.62.
The electric valves are at V and M.

Ordered an electric hydraulic multiplier from V&M on Friday. I'm using it to expand my single remote to get three remotes.
