Hi everybody I just tryed my 3120 last night plowing snow and when I would lift the loader or rear blade it would feels and sounds like it was working hard.So I checked the hydro fluid and seemed fine. I was running the tractor at 2000 rpms and that is what the dealer said to run it at because he said you don't have run it at full rpm but maybe I do have to run at full rpms. Anybody have this problem with there deeres. I did have this problem with my 2210 it was real smooth and quiet. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Thanks

Doesn't sound normal to me. I'd worry about something wrong and keep leaning on the dealer to figure it out. Or at least keep it up front so if it eventually gets worse you have the record that you were worried all along.
Keep the dealer informed. I don't see any need to run at higher rpm's. My Deere 4300 doesn't require that.

Was it cold out? Do you have synthetic hydro oil in it? When quite cold, non-synthetic fluid will cause some noise, slower response, etc. It's just too thick to work well. If this isn't the problem, then you could have some other issue ...

ps. John Deere's "cold weather" hydraulic oil (I don't remember what it's called at the moment) does NOT appear to be synthetic and it DOES get thick in the cold. Maybe not at bad as the normal stuff, but bad enough to make lots of evil noises and cause very slow response in my 990 at -15 or -20 ish temperatures. I replaced it with synthetic Amsoil ATH very soon after that first winter.

Try it at 2500-3000 and let me know how she does. I run mine at 2000 min just to move it around but not do heavy work.

My steering on my 4720 makes some noise sometimes. I was talking to my John Deere dealer and he says sometimes it is because the lines will be not be 100% isolated and I will feel it thru the steering column. They are going to check all the lines and see what happens.

A couple updates on the 4720:
Installing full cruise
Installing Rear Valve
Replacing seatbelt (keeps jamming)
Look at the noise int he steering
