The 4800psi is just the standard max working pressure for that size hose.

Why do you need a hose for 4800 psi? Your tractor sure doesn't need that.

Like I said "for Dummies" - I thought that was kind of high, but it's what's printed on the hose. I figured I would duplicate until I know better. When I looked up hoses at places like Northern Tool they had pressures in the 3000 range, and I think I remember my tractor pumps up to about 2800.

Just so you know, hydraulic hoses have a 4x pressure rating. If it's rated at 3000psi, it doesn't burst until it gets to 12000psi. A 3000psi hose is all you need. ;)

Reviving an old thread here...
I see the last person posted on this thread is Brian, who has given me a quote for rear remote and top&side link hydraulics. Before I jump into this task, I'm trying to learn more about hydraulics (as well as the tractor I got with my property 3 years ago).

When I got the property I had never operated a tractor. I jumped in the seat and figured out everything on my own (and with the help of YouTube and forums). Well, I thought I had figured everything out. What is this lever on the front side of the FEL joy stick?

Should be to lock out the loader joystick.

As posted above that is your joystick lock lever. It does what its name would suggest, it locks the joystick lever. similar to a safety lever on a firearm. AND just like a safety on a firearm, it can be useful, but the best safety is between your ears.

I am sure you are speaking to him and about him specifically, cause between my ears there is more danger than safety.

Well, in general my point is, never to trust a safety mechanism. Sure they are great to have, and I use them, but even so, do not do things to "test" that safety mechanism.
Here would be some examples: Working under a raised FEL bucket after you put on the joystick lock safety. Here is another, taking a loaded firearm with the safety mechanism engaged and pulling the trigger while the muzzle is pointed at something you are not willing to destroy.
