Hydraulics on grey-market tractors...

Hey folks:

Just curious here...do any of the typical grey-market tractor models have enough hydraulic flow and pressure from the built-in pump and enough capacity in the built-in hydraulic reservoir to run a small 3PH backhoe? Or would pretty much all of them need the type of backhoe that is self-contained with it's own PTO-powered pump and it's own reservoir? I gather pretty much all of them have enough hydraulic necessities to run a loader with no problems.

By grey-market, I'm referring to Yanmar, Hinomoto, Mitsubishi, Iseki, and Shibaura.

Also, I don't recall ever seeing any that were HST rather than manual tranny's...please correct me if I'm wrong.

I can't comment as to the flow rate as I have never had a hoe on a grey market. From the speed at which my loaders have worked, I believe I would want the PTO vs tractor hydraulics. As for HST, I can tell you that Yanmar does make HST tractors now, but I have never seen one imported. The greys you see for sale are of a vintage that did not have HST.

I had a Yanmar with a loader and hoe. I used the remote pump. I could use the hoe and loader at the same time. It came in handy when you were in a muddy spot and needed to crab out. You couldn't do that if you used the tractor for both.

I had a Kelley B600 backhoe & loader on a YM1702d for 4 years as a rental unit using tractor hydraulics. . It had plenty of speed. I usually ran it at about half throttle. The hoe was rated 3.5-4.5 GPM.The tractor has 5-6 gpm pump.
