Hydraulics question, Jinma 224

Newbie question here. New tractor, has 30 hours on it, bought at dealer and it has warranty but getting the tractor to the dealer is a pain.

Jinma 224, shuttle shift,.....today the FEL started working erratically...not smooth. Rough. Slower. Same thing with the boxblade. Lifts rough. A washer was recently replaced on a banjo bolt which had caused a leak...and the fluid didnt seem really dirty...it was relatively clear...maybe now theres some air in the system?? Anything easy I can do to check it out without getting hurt?? Thanks!!!

Sounds like you are low on hydraulic fluid.

low on fluid or you are sucking air on the suction line. On my 284, the union at the top of the filter assembly was loose when delivered. It would weep a little oil when stopped and suck air bubbles in when running. Check all the connections.

Do as all those have already replied. Check all the fittings, fluid level and that filter. My filter was loose on the filter tube. I'm glad I caught it as it would suck air without any visible leaks if loose enough as it seals with a O ring.

I removed the dipstick, nothing on it. I got a flashlight out, and the level was way below the dipstick. About 2 inches lower than the bottom of the stick. It appears to be very clean though. Tomorrow I get some AW32 fluid and fill till I get a reading on the stick.

I didnt lose all that fluid, so somewhere the dealer didnt fill it.

If you dont have any other leaks, the tank shouldnt lose any hydro fluid ever, right???

Correct. I have never had to add hydo fluid to mine (120 hrs over the last 3 years).

Now if you did not notice any fluid leaking,check your engine oil,it's prob. overfull. If it is you blew the seal in the hydraulic pump and the hydraulic oil is going into the crankcase.If that has happened then you must rebuild or replace your pump.Let us know if we can help we have rebuild kits and replacement pumps.

When my KAMA was delivered I checked all the fluid levels. the loader and 3pt worked fine but the hydraulic fluid level was low...exactly like you said, about 2 inches below the bottom of the dipstick. I added AW32 until I got a reading.
I went out later and did a bunch of loader work and noticed that a bunch of hydraulic fluid had squirted out of the breather holes on the filler plug. Like the reservoir was over filled, but I only filled it to read between the marks! I didn't notice it until I got of the tractor. The level is now low again, but I have not refilled it and everything works just fine....what's up with that?

Maybe they know something I don't know? Maybe my dipstick is marked incorrectly?...Let us know what happens when you add that AW32 to the fill marks.

Maybe I'm telling you something you already know, but you've got to check/fill the hydraulic sump with the hydraulics inactive. That's FEL down and on the ground, BH down and outriggers up, TPH down, HTL retracted, et cetera. Once all the formerly pressurized hydraulic fluid is returned to the sump, THEN you check the level.
