HYDRAULICS SEAL LEAKS AFTER NEW REPLACEMENT

I can raise the cylinder to the top but once i release it falls back down.

You do really need to find out what did the damage to the seal in the picture you have posted.

Checking on the assembled cylinder performance does nothing to advance your situation.

Sorry, that is just how stuff works.

Ok. Understood but that doesn't help us much.
Now go back to Post #4 and answer the questions from there down please. (If you want actual help.) Or is this just more like a 'Blog'?

Yes, please answer questions.

In first post you said bucket cylinder.

Now you are saying g you can "raise cylinder all the way to the top and it just falls back down"

That implies loader lift cylinders.

While you might not think it's a big deal.....knowing weather the cylinder, when it "falls back down" (also know as drift) is in compression or extension when drifting is key.

Only one can be the cylinder at fault. Cylinder I. Compression while drifting , rules out the cylinder as the cause.

You have a dented cylinder tube, you'll need a new piston head and need to get the barrel fixed and honed.

THank you for the reply. I am new to this so to better inform you I will give you the whole run down. THe left seal was replaced and it held the bucket up for short time. I could hold the bucket up by keeping pressure held but once released it fell back down. I took that seal out and the photo shows the damage. To me the damage is on the top which is not the cylinder but as i said Im new to this. So the second seal installed i assume will have the same damage once removed becuase it will not hold the bucvket up. I hope this better helps you diagnose. THank you again for your expertise in this matter.

Did you replace the seals in both cylinders?

I hope this better helps you diagnose.

Nope, you didnt answer a single question that was asked.

Lift cylinder or curl cylinder?
Did you check rod for straightness?
Did you inspect the cylinder to find out what caused the damage?
Do you have a fitting protruding into the bore of the cylinder causing damage?

And even after the last post......I am still confused. How many times have you had the cylinder apart? You said "The left seal was replaced.......(didnt work for long).........I took THAT seal out and the photo shows the damage".......

Then you said "second seal is installed...I assume same damage"........

So how many times has the cylinder been apart?
Is the pic the original seal? or the one that only lasted 30 min?
Dont assume anything, take it apart AGAIN......what does the seal in there NOW look like?
Assuming the pic is the seal that lasted 30 min from your first failed attempt at a rebuild, and the seal in there now is from the SECOND rebuild, WHERE is the first seal you took out that has been in the machine before you started having problems? What does it look like?

Some DIY'ers need to just admit the open wallet will fix it:2cents:
