on my 1620 fluid dipstick is on the floor right below the seat...

Thanks for the tip! There was a small rubber handle where you said it would be... I had to spray some liquid wrench on it and use a pry bar because someone had stepped on it I guess, and forced it so far in that it wouldn稚 come out!! There was no oil registering on the dipstick, so I added some and sure enough, it showed up...

I plan on changing the hydraulic oil this weekend, if weather permits. Today I also sprayed some lithium on the tool box hinge and got it to work better, oiled the seat springs and finally got the seat slide to release and move back... finally! I can sit on her comfortably.....

Now I also need to find the rear amber signal lamps, and I want to add some work lights to the ROPS.

Operators manual finally showed up today!!

I’ve already gone thru it and picked out several more maintenance items I’m gonna take on, hopefully this week! Unfortunately for me, I don’t have a shop I can pull it in and work so I’m at the mercy of the weather.... and it’s no bueno in WNC today.

I haven’t forgot, I want to update as to the outcome.... but alas, the weather has not cooperated and I haven’t been able to work on the tractor. I had one nice weather day, but it was warm, so I rode the motorcycle instead!

I will update as soon as I get a chance to change the oil. Thanks again for the tips and info.

Okay... so I finally got to the tractor. I started to change the oil but noticed that once it started flowing, it looked like new oil. So I closed it up, and took the hydraulic oil filter off. It was nasty, and looked like it may be the original. Put a new filter on, filled it up to full. Ran it for a few minutes and then topped it off.

Now, I can lower the bucket, curl it, and it lifts the front end right up!

Glad that fixed the problem!!!!

I had a serious conversation with my Dad several years ago about this very thing. He would change the oil in his tractors diligently. Changed the filters every other change..... My argument was he should do the opposite if he didn't want to change both every time. I don't think he ever fully bought into the idea, but tolerated my insistence. When he got older I changed his oils for him. Replaced oil and filters at the same time. :)
