I have a belt driven hydraulic pump on a case 442 with a FEL when ever I engage the value the pump squeals & motor bogs down. What is causing this & how could I correct the problem!! Your suggestions!

Is there a pressure relief valve somewhere in the hydraulics?

It sounds like the pump is stalling due to low or dead headed flow.

What is attached to the work ports on the valve?

If you are at the end of cyl travel, the relief will activate.

If a hyd motor is fully loaded, the relief will go off.

You may have a QD loose and can not pass the fluid to where it supposed to go.

If you have a cyl on the work ports, is the cyl moving.

Work ports have cly connected, cly move very slowly when value is engaged

Speed of operation is based on pump GPM , so if you pull the lever back, what happens?

I have a concentric gear pump 4-8 GPM driven by 18 hp vanguard

When lever is engaged pump squeals & motor bogs & cly move slowly

You might put a hyd gauge in the valve and check out the pressure.

Is the cyl connected to anything and is it binding/bent, etc..

Clys are connected toFEL bucket & bucket frame

Remove the cyl hoses and place in a bucket and then operate the lever and see if fluid flows and the relief acrivates
