John-
I went back and forth on this with my dealer. His shop mgr. strongly advised me to save my money and not do anything until 100 hours (change the filter). After I did that, I topped off with a quart of new fluid. He said it is a waste to change the filter after the first 10 hours. He said wait until 100 hours and I did just that. As far as the fluid, you shouldn't have to change it unless its contaminated with water or dirt. That is a pretty large high pressure filter, so its going to trap what it needs to. I've been told repeatedly by my dealer, they've had 2000 and 3000 series machines with 400 or more hours that were seeing their first tranny filter changes and the fluid and internals of the filter were still clear and working as new. I love the fact there is a filter to change, but, its not like it needs swapping out like your engine filter. I am keeping with a regular 100 hour filter change, but, I'm not going to change fluid, just top off.
