Hydro-Gear PJ-12 pump

Sure would be interesting to find out where those pieces of bearing and flange are in your system. Did you cut the filter apart yet?

Or when you flush it what comes out.

I have the pumps flushed. Nothing came out of either one, and I ran two full quarts through each.

I have not yet cut the filter open. I don't want to cut it using a method that will generate chips. What have you used? A punch, and then tin snips?

This photo shows [in a new pump] they use petroleum jelly on O-rings.

I would cut the top off with snips around the edge and pull out the innards. Drill a hole and then snip.

I know this is old, but it may help someone else in the future. I cut all my filters with a big pipe cutter. These work well cause they cut by displacing metal, not cutting it. Therefore no chips are made.
