Hydro on 40 and 45

Good read guys. jim that was a good compilation of good , bad and the ugly for the HST. I'm still sitting on the fence. I won't lose my gear tractor ever but think maybe a HST transmission rig with a loader might be the best 2 tractor combination a guy can have...

Got to convince myself yet and that's a struggle..:eek: Although, I do believe very much in "KISS" principal;)

After all the research and the responses on this sight, I finally gave the nod to the dealer for a new Case DX 40. I think a hydro is the way to go for me, and I really like the loader setup on this tractor. The way prices are increasing, even if I sell it in 4 or 5 years I shouldn't lose too much if I decide it isn't for me.
I got the quick tatch bucket, I have a push blade from my Ford 3600 I want to attach a quick tatch plate to for plowing snow with.

I also got a block heater, fluid in the tires and a rear work light. The zero for 60 and the $650.00 fuel card was also a big plus. The salesman was very helpful, he called many times, and even stopped at my house on a Sunday to look at my Ford 3600. He thought I could do better selling it outright. He even found a buyer for my tractor, I got more for it than I ever thought I would. Most of the other dealers wouldn't call me back. One salesman I called three times, he would talk a sale and say he would call with further details, but never has. I hope he calls now so I can tell him I bought a Case.

Congratulations JJ! It seems you have a double win, a great tractor and a great dealer.

I got my tractor last week. I posted pictures on the Case IH forum.

remember that the hydro peddle is not a "gas" peddle, but a gear peddle.

push it farther down, you get a higher "gear" = move quicker = less torque.

when doing heavy FEL work, youll notice this. with little peddle engagement pushing into a pile i can spin tires, as i increase peddle it stops spinning and goes to bypass.
