Hydro pedal sticky on CK35

   / Hydro pedal sticky on CK35 #11
I had a customer bring his tractor in and said it stays in F-R when you take your foot off the pedal. I worked on it for 10 hours with the dampeners, replacing valves and pressure tests trying to get it to do it but it still ran fine for me. Could not find anything wrong. He calls me back up and finally says it mainly does it with a load like loading dirt. Sends a video of him loading the bucket and he took his foot off and the pedal stayed down and the tires kept on spinning. Kioti told me to replace the hst and it all works fine now. Make sure you tell the dealer exactly what it's doing especially with the hst.

So I guess that replacing the hst does make sense. When I dropped it off at the dealer, I had the tech come out with me and try it. The pedal immediately stayed stuck in the forward position. The tech informed me that he would be calling the kioti rep about the situation and was most likely going to be changing the hst. I thought it was odd to change the hst, but what do I know. LOL. Thanks for the info.

UPDATE: Called the dealer today and was informed that they replaced the dampers along with lubing all points to the pedal with no improvements. Dealer called the kioti rep who informed them they needed a video of the issue in order to have an hst unit through warranty. Next step is hst replacement.

I currently have the Bobcat CT235 and it has had the same hydro pedal issues since about 300 hrs. now has 600 hrs.
Looking at trading to the new CK3510. Are the CK 3510 tractors with twin hydro pedal having the same issues?

Update: Just got off the phone with the dealer, told me parts were in and they just needed to find place in the shop to tear it apart. Should be ready by the end off next week. Skinnyman, I tried out the new ck3510 and it doesn't seem to have the sticky pedal issue. A guy I know bought a ck3510 a few months back and informed me that his pedals do stick on occasion.

This may not help everyone, but did me. I used brake cleaner on all the moving parts to get all the old grease off of the assembly. It helps to have a second person move the peddle as you do this. I then used what is called a dust free lube - something that is not supposed to collect dust. In my case is is a dry lithium in a spray can, but others should work. I made sure all the linkages were clean and dry before doing this. Seems to have helped a lot.

What I found is all the fine dust was binding mine up a bit, but I am used to this when cold and always have my heal ready to tap reverse.

Disapointed to hear that about about the dual pedals. I wish the CK series had the shuttle option. Looked at tested the DK45 with hyd. shuttled and it was nice. Just more tractor than I need.

I had a CK30 which developed a sticky HST pedal. Dealer had me try the usual stuff, no help. He took it and found that the shaft where it goes into the transmission was dry. He said there was a run where the clearance between the shaft and the hole was too small and lube couldn't get in. He reamed out the hole a few thousands, lubed it up, and all was fine after that. I upgraded to a DK40 and the first winter when I tried to go from forward to reverse... it kept driving forward for a few seconds, same thing going from reverse to forward. But it only happened when the temp was below 20dF. Kioti rep said to change the HST unit, haven't had any issue since the unit was changed out.

When my CK30 was new in 2006 it stuck occasionally, but I lubed it myself and concentrated on the shaft and damper with silicone spray.
It now has 700 + hours and is still working OK.

Mine is a 2008, the pedal was sticky from day 1. After fighting with the dealer for a couple years and finally calling Kioti myself, the HST unit was replaced. It worked fine for a few years, fast forward to 2016, it sticks. Now it seems to only do it when cold and gets better as it warms up, but not perfect. I feel this IS a safety issue and if anyone wanted to start some sort of class action suit you can count me in.
