Nice pic, crash! Looking at the tree....That wouldn't be Japan, would it? (Just a WAG) Does seem like the 50's. Nice photo.

Think the picture was taken in 1954 or 55 off the CA coast near Tory Pines. Date is right as the P5M-2 came along about 2 years later, Not sure about the location, could have been Japan. I was plane caption / 1st mech. / second mech. from 1957 to 1962 on a P5M-1.
Didn't have much interest in planes until I was about 3 or 4. First memory is some P-38's flying over the house during WW2. I ask my mom about them, she told me not to worry, they didn't have guns or bombs. :laughing:
